  • Opportunity to see one of Simon's most popular farces

    By Ron Ellis

    Southport Dramatic Club present Rumours

    Preview by Ron Ellis

DIRECTED by Les Gomersall, Rumours is one of Neil Simon’s most popular farces. It is set in a palatial home where Deputy mayor of New York, Charley Brock, and his wife, Myra, are celebrating their 10th anniversary and have invited all their good friends. But Myra is missing and Charley has accidentally shot himself in the ear and is unconscious.

Their lawyer friends, Ken and Chris Gorman, arrive so, to avoid a scandal, they try to cover up what they believe to be Charley’s suicide attempt with hilarious results as the excuses become more ridiculous by the minute.

The cast includes: Kathy Felton-Aksoy, Ted Bullen, Rikki Spofforth, Emily Parr, Jennifer Corcoran, Trevor Ford, Liz Crooke, Adrienne Ledson and new members, Gary Simpson and Jenny Parr.

Rumours starts on Friday, April 28 and runs until Saturday, May 6 at Southport’s Little Theatre. Tickets from the Box Office Tel. 530521/530460
