Former Bake Off contestant Flo makes cakes for son’s charity event
THIS Is Livin Bar & Grill in Crosby held a Macmillan Coffee Morning with a difference on Friday, September 29 – the cakes on sale were baked by a former Great British Bake Off contestant, Flo Atkins.
Flo, 71, and from Litherland, had been asked to make the cakes by her son Stephen Atkins, who owns the business on Carnegie Avenue.
The event was held in memory of Stephen’s dad, Richard, who had died from leukaemia in 2015 and around £500 was raised.
Stephen said: “This is the third fundraiser we have organised for cancer charities this year.
“People thought her cakes were absolutely lovely. One representative from Macmillan came round and said it was one of the nicest spreads that they had seen.”
