SDC to present ghost story
By Ron Ellis
THE Southport Dramatic Club is to present The Haunting, a play by Hugh Janes, adapted from several ghost stories by Charles Dickens.
Sheltered from the howling winds that tear across the moor outside, young book dealer, David Filde, is employed by Lord Gray, a former associate of his uncle to catalogue an impressive library at his ancient crumbling mansion.
But, as a series of strange and unexplained events occur, David begins to fear for his safety. Who is the young woman in a tattered bridal gown sitting in the wing chair? Why does Lord Gray lock the door?
David tried to convince his employer that the ghostly happenings are real, but then the two men stumble across a dark and terrifying secret that will change their lives forever.
Fresh from a successful national tour, this is a gripping thriller from the literary master of suspense.
Featuring Richard Michell as Lord Gray, Harry Tanner as David Filde and Zoe Findlay as Mary and directed by John Sharp, this is the ideal entertainment for a cold, dark winter evening.
The Haunting runs from Friday, November 24 to Saturday, December 2 at 7.30pm each evening at the Little Theatre. Tickets from the Box Office – 01704 530521/530460.
