A 13-year-old Ainsdale girl had the surprise of her life when Disney Channel stars turned up on her doorstep.

Greenbank High pupil Hayley Smith will star in the new series of Undercover Coach, where celebrities surprise young proteges and advise them on their favourite aspects of performing arts.

Hayley, who hopes to become a professional singer/songwriter, was surprised at home by Brad Kavanagh, star of Disney Channel show As the Bell Rings.

“When Brad knocked at the door, I was so excited but in shock,” Hayley said.

“I really enjoyed spending time with him and getting some tips from someone who knows what it feels like to be passionate about singing and songwriting.

“He’s really inspiring and gave me lots of confidence to believe in my song writing. The filming aspect of the show was really interesting too. I love to act, so I hope I’ll get the opportunity to do more of that as I really enjoyed it.

“It was an amazing experience - one that I’ll never forget.”

She says she is really excited to see herself on TV.

“I can’t believe I’m going to be on Disney Channel – I’m a little nervous about it all but I’ll be watching it with my mum, dad, and the rest of my family, so I know it’ll be okay,” said Hayley – a member of  Southport Operatic New Generation (SONG) and the Academy of Children’s Theatre (ACT).

The new episodes of Undercover Coach premiere on Disney Channel on Friday 28 November at 4pm (continuing every Friday until December 19).  Hayley's will be the first episode.
