Stars of Emmerdale will appear at the Riverside Steam and Vintage Vehicle Rally this weekend.

Paddy Kirk  and Marlon Dingle (aka Dominic Brunt and Mark Charnock) will make guest appearances at the event, that will feature more than 500 exhibits on Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 19 2009.

Thirty steam engines will be on display along with vintage cars, wagons, tractors, buses, motor bikes and military vehicles.

A vintage fairground will be in attendance together with numerous trade stalls and a selection of food outlets.

An auction of steam engines, vintage vehicles and items of memorabilia will take place on Saturday at 2pm.

The event will be held at the Riverside Holiday Park Complex, Southport New Road, Banks and all proceeds will be donated to local charities. Admission is £5 for adults and £3 for children.

The Harrison Family, owners of the Riverside, hope the rally will become an annual event and raise thousands for charity. Some of the causes to benefit from the inaugural event are the North West Air Ambulance, the NSPCC, local hospices and Rotary International.
