DNA linked man to shotgun found in his home
A MAN from Walton has been jailed more than a year after police found a shotgun at a home in Anfield after his DNA was linked to the weapon.
John McGimpsey, 40, of Barbrook Way, was arrested on April 20 following the discovery of a double barrelled shotgun and cartridges when officers searched a property on Lynholme Road on April 1, 2016.
His arrest only came about after a forensic investigation found that his DNA was linked to the gun.
He was jailed last week for two years and eight months at Liverpool Crown Court for possessing the weapon without a certificate.
