Skelmersdale cadets bring home silverware after attending awards event
MEMBERS of the 1439 Skelmersdale Air Cadets are celebrating another trophy - thanks to a little help from the Champion!
Sarah O’Sullivan, the squadron’s committee chair, received The Public Relations Trophy at this year’s Merseyside Wing Field Training Day awards event.
Throughout the year Sarah has reported on Skelmersdale Air Cadets’ progress and achievements in various media sources.
For each published report the squadron received points and Sarah managed to score a staggering 189 points for the year earning the local cadets first place out of 30 Squadrons in the Wing.
She said: “I am really chuffed and proud that all the hard work with newspaper articles, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram postings has paid off.
“I would also mention all the fantastic photographs taken by our resident photographer - my husband, Kevin. I think we make a great media team together!
“However, none of this reporting would have been possible without our fantastic cadets and staff who have achieved and worked so hard this year, it made our job a lot easier.
“I would also like to give a very special thank-you to Champion Newspapers who have given us continued support in publishing our news when we send achievement articles to them.
“Thank you very much, we at 1439 Squadron are very grateful.”
