Men-Aces ‘cut a dash’ at fundraising fun run!
MEMBERS of the Skem Men-Aces disability football team joined around 4,000 other participants in curly wigs for the 5k Scouse Dash in Liverpool on Sunday, October 15.
Mim Eaton from the Men-Aces said: “This was a first for the lads and they thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
“Instead of them getting money as sponsorship they were given tins and packets of food and we hope to do this for the forthcoming Santa Dash as well.
“The team will then be able to take food hampers to Digmoor Community Centre, who are opening their doors on Christmas Day for the homeless, lonely, elderly and vulnerable for a Christmas Dinner.
“The centre are also hoping to prepare little boxes of goodies for the people that come and see them, to help them through the festive season.
“This is the sixth year that we have helped the centre and we are hoping to try and make between 35 and 50 hampers up so that no one gets left out.”
