Helping hand from hotel...
by David Simister

STAFF at a Southport hotel have offered a helping hand to charity after hosting a fancy dress event recently.

Bar workers at Maloneys, situated inside the Scarisbrick Hotel on Lord Street, gave a cheque for £200 to the Teenage Cancer Trust after raising the money through their bar tips at a fancy dress night themed on the cult film The Rocky Horror Show.

Martin Riley, area manager at the Scarisbrick Hotel, told The Champion:

“As cancer affects approximately one in three people in the UK, we felt it was a very worthy cause to donate to and we hope that this money can be used to help fund the constant battle against cancer for the younger people of our region.

”The charity is consantly looking for ways to funds the excellent work that they do throughout the country and the Scarisbrick Hotel were happy to match whatever money was raised on the night.“
