Pals make marathon effort
by David Simister

FIVE friends from West Lancashire are to tackle the London Marathon in aid of motor neurone disease.

David Cropper, John and Rosin Dickinson, Ann Palmer and son, Matt, are to run the marathon on April 17, in their latest fundraiser inspired by David's wife Rachel, who lives with the mobility-restricting disease.

The five runners, who hail from Tarleton, have twice pushed Rachel around the Great North Run and have now secured Golden Bond places in the London event.

They are are unable to push Rachel around the 26-mile course, due to health and safety reasons but they hope to boost the £12,000 raised for the charity to date.
