Civic society talk on local railways

NORTH Meols Civic Society will welcome local railway historian, Keith Hick to speak at its next meeting.

The talk at this Friday's event (April 1) will focus on ‘The Lettuce Line', the story of the former Southport to Preston railway line axed by Dr Beeching in the 1960s.

The talk, being held in the lounge at Marshside Methodist Church on Marshside Road.

Visitors are welcome and admission is £1. Members can enter for free.
