Family conquer peaks in fundraiser
by David Simister

A FAMILY from Aughton tackled the Three Peaks challenge as part of a fundraising effort.

The Woods family - Freya, 8, Harry, 11, mum Lois and dad James, - joined a team from Merchant Taylors school in Crosby to climb Scafell Pike in Cumbria, Snowdonia in North Wales and Ben Nevis in Scotland to raise funds for the Good Life Orphanage in Kenya and the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal.

Freya said it was a difficult for the family because it involved nearly 20 hours of driving between the three mountains and 18 hours of climbing to reach the summits. The family helped to raise a total of £1,180 for the Good Life Orphanage and £200 for the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal.
