Get into the 2012 Olympic spirit at the Hope Centre
by David Simister

AN AINTREE church is getting into the Olympic spirit after announcing a series of events themed around this summer's games taking place in the capital.

Staff at the Hope Centre, based at Old Roan Baptist Church, said that it will be hosting a string of fun family events for residents, with the first, a summer kids' club, kicking off next Tuesday (July 24).

The club, which will run until Friday, July 27, is aimed at children between five and 11 years old, and will include games, quizzes and prices following an Olympic theme.

It will be followed by the More Than Gold family fun day at the Hope Centre, which will include games, races, face painting and a barbecue when it takes place between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday, August 4. There will also be a guest service the following day between 10.30am and midday which will feature an appearance from Arthur White, four times world power lifting champion.

On Saturday, August 11, residents are being invited to cheer for Britain when the London 2012 finals are shown on a big screeen between 5pm and 9pm, with a barbecue and a quiz night being thrown in for added measure.

For more details and registration forms for the kids' club visit the church website at www.oldroanbaptist.co.uk or contact the Hope Centre on 0151 291 6640.
