Food festival set to tickle the taste buds
by David Simister

THE Bickerstaffe Food Festival is all set to tickle the tastebuds of West Lancashire residents - and the focus will be on the family.

The team behind the event said the October 6 event will be even bigger and better than last year's inaugural event, with everything from locally-brewed beer and homemade chocolates to pies and cupcakes to entice visitors to the village.

Kim O'Brien, one of the organisers, said: “We are so excited for the festival next month. We have a smashing line-up of stall holders and the whole family can really enjoy this vibrant day.

”The farm promises to come alive both outdoors and indoors with such a variety of activities including cookery demonstrations, a food market, food to eat, birds of prey display, outdoor survival skills camp, stall-based food tastings, craft and cookery workshops for children who get free entry into the festival, competitions, BBQ & hog roast plus a background programme of intimate local musicians performing.“

The festival will be held between Moss House Farm, on Ben Lane between 10am and 4pm, and costs £2 for adults to attend, with free admission for children. More information is available by going to www.bickerstaffefoodfestival.co.uk and taking a look at the official event website.
