Dickens' readings set to be recreated
by Natasha Young

‘A CHRISTMAS Carol' will be the next production to hit the Aughton Village Hall stage this month, as part of its SPOT ON programme of drama.

On November 30, the New Perspectives Theatre Company will dramatically recreate author Charles Dickens' own readings of the classic story.

In 1853, Dickens took to the stage for the first time and his readings of ‘A Christmas Carol' began one of the most talked about theatrical phenomena of the Victorian age.

As they are now recreated by Ken Falconer under the careful direction of Matt Cullum, the Aughton Village Hall Committee is anticipating a full audience for the entertaining show.

The performance will take place at 8pm and tickets, priced £8 for adults and £3 for children (must be over 12), are available from Eunice Woof on 01695 422482 or Sue Watkinson 01695 422 423.

Alternatively, tickets can be purchased during a coffee morning at the venue from 10am-12pm this Saturday (November 24).
