by David Simister

A BURSCOUGH man has been left seriously injured after being involved in a collision between two tractors in Newburgh, police have said this week.

Lancashire Constabulary said the 24-year-old man, who has not been identified, was taken to Wigan Hospital in a serious condition after the John Deere tractor he was being towed in by another tractor rolled over, throwing him out of the cab.

Sergeant Dave Hogarth from the Road Policing Unit said, “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened to come forward and contact the police.

”The driver of the second tractor is in a serious condition in hospital and we have specially trained officers supporting them.“

The incident happened on Course Lane in Newburgh at around 1.50pm on Boxing Day. The 25-year-old driver of the Ford tractor which was towing the other tractor, officers have said, is from the Dalton area and was uinjured.
