Youngsters bake up £250 for charity
by David Simister

YOUNGSTERS at one Aughton school have found a tasty way to help a Southport charity by raising hundreds of pounds through a cake sale.

Pupils at Aughton St Michael's Primary School managed to cook up £250 for Queenscourt Hospice when they baked their own cakes and then sold them to help raise funds for the charity, which looks after terminally ill residents in Southport, West Lancashire and the surroundng areas.

The school's headteacher, Fiona Cottam, joined youngsters on a visit to the hospice last week to present staff at the hospice with the money raised from the cake sale.
