THIS was the scene after a car hurtled towards a pavement and smashed into some traffic lights on Linacre Road in Litherland after it collided with another car and it resulted in a 25 year-old driver of a Ford Fiesta then crashing into the nearby traffic light on .

Merseyside Police has confirmed that no one was seriously injured, but the male driver of the other car was taken to hospital as a precaution.

A worker at nearby shop Brian's Groomers, said: “None of the staff actually saw it take place but we heard a very loud bang”.

The incident took place at around 9.40am on Tuesday December, 17, and the road was closed for a short period of time.
