Family of missing man in plea for him to get in touch
by Ollie Cowan

POLICE in Southport are growing increasingly concerned for the whereabouts of Churchtown man Adam Whitehurst who has now been missing for nearly three weeks.

His friends and family grow increasibgly distraught and are pleading for him to get in touch as soon as possible.

Detectives have released a new photograph of Adam who has been missing from his home since New Years Eve when he last seen by his wife at around 10am.

34-year-old Adam is believed to be wearing the same dark grey North Face jacket and tracksuit bottoms that he is seen wearing in the photo.

His family and friends are growing increasingly concerned for him as he has not been in contact and despite extensive police enquiries and a public appeal, he has also not been seen.

Detective Inspector Mike Dalton from Sefton CID said: “It has been more than two weeks now since Adam was last seen by his wife and his friends, family and work colleagues are understandably concerned.

”Adam lives in Churchtown in Southport but works in Manchester city centre and has relatives and friends in Cheshire so I am appealing for people in all these areas to look at his photo and tell us if you think you have seen him since New Year’s Eve.

“He also has links to London.

”His family have released a photo of Adam in clothes they believe he was wearing on the day he disappeared.

“This new photo also shows that Adam is a much broader man than our previous photos of him suggested so I would re-appeal for anyone reading this to spare a few moments to look at this new photograph and cast your mind back over the last two weeks as to whether you think you have see him.

”His disappearance is unusual and everyone who knows him are understandably distraught. The police are doing everything we can to find him but we need the public’s help.“

Adam is described as white, about 6ft 1 inch tall and has short straight brown hair, a slight stubble and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a dark grey thick North Face jacket with a hood, dark grey/blue tracksuit bottoms and brown loafer shoes.

He was riding a red Carrera mountain bike.

Contact Merseyside Police on 0151 934 4556, the police non-emergency number on 101 or the Missing People Charity on 116 000 if you believe you have seen him.
