Surprises in store at Newburgh Fair
by Henry James

THE Four Seasons is the theme of this year's Newburgh Fair this year - with organisers promising some surprise additions.

There will be a number of events in the week leading up to the fair on Saturday, June 20 when the procession will start at midday from the school in Back Lane.

This will be followed by entertainment on the field and there will be stalls both inside and outside the marquee - including the famous WI cake stall (get there quickly to find any left!) - along with refreshments and bar.

The annual craft show and Newburgh Morris Dancers will add to the atmosphere of the afternoon.

On Saturday evening the marquee will be transformed into a winter wonderland for the ball.

Tickets sell out quickly for the ball, to reserve yours ring Anna on 07957 207792. This year it's ‘bring your own' food and drink or you can buy from the food van in the field.

On Tuesday, June 16 Douglas Valley Lions will stage their bingo night from 7.30pm; on Thursday, June 18 it's Ladies Night with hot food, bar and dancing to Steve Charles Disco; and on Friday evening it's family night with Let Newburgh Entertain You.

For more details of events get in touch with Hazel on 07801 427856 or or email her at hazelflight@yahoo.co.uk.
