I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the Champion and to the community of Seaforth after the recent burglary of Seaforth Community Shop.

As a result of your article covering the theft we were overwhelmed with the response and have been able to send £450 to the Joey Dunlop Foundation in the Isle of Man as well as donating £100 to Operation Christmas Child, £100 to Liverpool Homeless Football Club and £75 to the British Legion Poppy Appeal.

We can never repay the kindness shown by everyone and i would like to say a special thank you to the stranger who passed in a huge bag of loose change that enabled us to bless so many other organisations at a time when most charities struggling.

We are experiencing great difficulties ourselves with sourcing food for the Christmas hampers we give to families right across Sefton who are in difficulties.

We are indebted to some of the schools we provide that support to for donating some of their harvest festival food to start us off. In particular English Martyrs, Newfield, St Michaels, Rimrose Hope and St John's schools you are all amazing. We have given over 700 families hampers so far this year and expect to be asked to support in the region of 400 more at Christmas and whilst things are looking a little shakey at the moment, I know that the Lord will multiply the food we have and no one will miss out. Thank you all from myself and my other volunteers.
