Little Theatre to present touching comedy
by Ron Ellis

Heroes at The SDC

Preview by RON ELLIS

HEROES is set in a French military hospital in 1959 where three WW1 veterans plan to escape to a distant poplar lined hill.

Gustave (David Davies) suffers from crippling agoraphobia; Henri (Jim Longworth), the longest resident, enjoys scouting for girls, despite his gammy leg and Phillipe (Mike Stowell) periodically passes out due to a piece of shrapnel lodged in his brain.

Gustave and Phillipe believe that a stone dog called Hercules, which is part of the garden furniture, has a life of its own.

This is a gentle touching comedy in the style of Last of the Summer Wine with echoes of Waiting for Godot as it follows the adventures of the three men on their quest for freedom.

The play runs from Friday, February 19 to the 27 at 7.45pm each evening. Tickets from the Box Office Tel 01704 530521/530460.
