Varied programme of films and shows at Arts Centre

THERE is a packed programme of films and shows at the Arts Centre at Edge Hill University, Ormskirk this February.

Today (Wednesday, February 17) at 7.30pm Short Cuts Cinema presents 45 Years. About to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary, a letter arrives for Kate's husband: the body of his first love has been discovered in the icy Swiss Alps glaciers. Stars Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay.

Edge Hill's Creative Writing Programme presents an evening with poet and founding editor of Oystercatcher Press, Peter Hughes on Wednesday, February 17 at 7.30pm.

Then on Wednesday February 18 at 8pm Cara Dillon will be appearing. If you don’t know the voice of Cara Dillon, you’re in for a treat. If you are already amongst her legions of admirers around the world, you know you have something special in store.

Short Cuts Cinema presents Crimson Peak, on Wednesday, February 24 at 7.30pm. This is a gothic romance starring Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam.

On Thursday, February 25 at 7pm NT Live As You Like It will be shown. Shakespeare’s glorious comedy of love and change comes to the National Theatre for the first time in over 30 years, with Rosalie Craig (London Road, Macbeth at MIF) as Rosalind.

The Fabulous Lancashire Revels present Frack Off! on Thursday, February 25 at 7.30pm. When Godzilla Inc. is granted permission to frack for shale gas, the village of Maybe-in-Eden successfully blockades itself, and the police send in an informer.

Finally on Monday, February 29 at 7pm there is an EHU Student Led Concert. This is a student-led concert showcasing all of the musical talent Edge Hill has to offer.
