The new restaurant at MOSI (Museum of Science & Industry, Manchester) was transformed into a live laboratory for baking bread with celebrity chef Paul Hollywood on Tuesday 7th December.
Paul, who is an artisan baker and charismatic TV judge of the Great British Bakeoff, demonstrated the science of baking bread in MOSI’s new open plan facilities, explaining the scientific processes behind baking, and giving advice and tips on baking your own breads.
Guests were also able to sample breads made on the night.
MOSI’s new restaurant, which includes a food theatre area where visitors see their food created, is part of an £8.5 million redevelopment of the Museum’s main warehouse building. It includes a new conference centre, learning centre, a new coffee shop and gift shop, as well as a newly expanded interactive Experiment gallery, and Revolution Manchester gallery - which will showcase Manchester’s greatest innovations.
Funding for MOSI’s redevelopment project comes from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Garfield Weston, SITA, and a number of other trusts and foundations.
