Top violinist and pianist to perform in village
DOUGLAS Music, Parbold, is presenting Jack Liebeck (violin) and Katya Apekisheva (piano) who will performing in the Auditorium in the Village Hall on Saturday, January 13 at 7.45 p.m.
Born in London, Jack Liebeck is one of the most compelling violinists on today’s concert platform. Jack is acclaimed for his “beguiling silvery tone” and first came to fame in 2002 with his debut CD of music by Fritz Kreisler, accompanied by Katya Apekisheva.
He and Katya will be playing some of Kreisler’s romantic melodies in the Viennese style and popular, major works by Schubert and Debussy.
Jack has performed recitals all over the world. In 2010, he won a Classical Brit. He was soloist on the romantic, intriguing and original scores composed by Dario Marianelli for the films Jane Eyre and Anna Karenina (2013).
Jack is Professor of Violin at the Royal Academy of Music. Born in Moscow, Katya Apekisheva is a prize-winning international concert soloist as well as an admired accompanist and chamber musician.
Katya studied at the world-renowned Gnessin Music School in Moscow. Katya is one of Europe’s renowned pianists, performing internationally as a soloist and as a chamber musician. Since becoming a prize-winner in the Leeds International and Scottish Piano Competitions and collecting awards such as the London Philharmonic Soloist of the Year and the Terence Judd Award, she is regarded as a pianist of exceptional gifts.
