    Henry James

EACH year the over arching organisation for British amateur theatre, NODA (National Operatic & Dramatic Association) gives awards for groups who have performed shows during the year and Southport Spotlights have won two prizes.

Southport is home to the winners of the 2017 Best Director of a show (Deborah Bloom), the Best Musical and the Best Overall Production.

The winner is Southport Spotlights Musical Theatre Society for their performance of Monty Python’s Spamalot at the Little Theatre.

This prestigious accolade is in competition with over 200 other societies in the area.

Spotlights are currently about to open their next production, My Fair Lady which runs from February 7 to 10 at the Little Theatre.

    To book your tickets call 01704 530521 or 07927 331 977 between 11am and 2.30pm.

Meanwhile the group are this year celebrating 65 years since their first production Lilac Domino.

Spotlights decided to mark their Sapphire Year by performing the well loved My Fair Lady at the Little Theatre.

The award winning society is now preparing to cast Barry Manilow’s Copacabana for their performance in the Little Theatre from June 27-30 2018. An introductory talk-up meeting is planned for Thursday, February 15 at Greenbank School, Hastings Road, Birkdale at 7.30pm.

They are looking for people who can sing, dance or both and are interested in being part of this fabulous show. People do not need to be a current member of the society – they will become a member if they are selected. Individuals do not need stage experience, Southport Spotlights will welcome them.

If you would like to help backstage or on props, wardrobe or publicity, they would also like people to be involved.
