Former Wales rugby captain to be special guest at Sports Fun Day
FORMER Wales rugby union captain Garin Jenkins will be the special guest at the Maghull Sports Fun Day, which is taking place this Saturday (June 23).
Organisers are promising that this year's event will be bigger and better than ever with a record number of local groups taking part on the day.
A spokesperson for the event said: “We have activities for the whole family to enjoy from soft play and musical bump sessions for little ones to kids craft, quad biking, archery and a climbing wall for older ones.
“With fun inflatables, traditional games, BBQ and our famous homemade cakes in tea tent and live music. We hope there is something for everyone!
“Not forgetting our display arena with sporting groups performing displays and a police dog show.”
Garin Jenkins will be teaching rugby skills for anyone who wants to give the sport a go.
It’s free entry to the event from noon-4pm with many activities free.
The event is held at Maghull Baptist and St George’s school field and is run by volunteers from the church.
There is disabled parking at the school, but otherwise there is no parking, so organisers ask everyone to be considerate and walk to the event, or park further away so it’s safe for all.
Garin Jenkins is also being interviewed about his life this Sunday (June 24) at 5pm-6.30pm at the Maghull British Legion which is open to all.
