Sea fishing club is a big catch with locals!
A SEA fishing club which only formed last year has proven to be a big catch with locals as members mark the one year anniversary.
The Champion reported in September 2017 how the Victoria Sea Angling Club was appealing for new members to sign up for fishing trips and regular meetings.
Twelve months on and the club has gone from strength to strength, with more than 30 paying members making the most of a fully functioning sea angling club.
In a recent trip, they enjoyed an eight hour fishing trip out of Holyhead, when they travelled on the charter boat Bad Boyz 1V.
Ian McKay, the chairman of Victoria Boat Angling Club said: “We are still open to new members and we are actively recruiting more people who share the same interests.
“It doesn't matter what level of proficiency prospective members have, we are more that happy to coach beginners until they are able to 'fly solo'.”
Victoria Sea Angling Club’s Annual General Meeting will be at the Victoria Hotel in Bath Street, Waterloo on Wednesday, October 10 at 7.30pm and new members are welcome to attend.
