Take That to perform at Anfield
TAKE That will hold the first concert at Anfield stadium for more than ten years when they perform next summer.
The three-piece will visit the Reds' home stadium on Thursday June 6, 2019 as part of their 38-date Greatest Hits tour.
The announcement on Monday, October 1 comes after Liverpool FC were given permission by Liverpool City Council to hold six concerts a year at the stadium.
The club had originally wanted to hold ten, but agreed to the lesser number after complaints from local residents and councillors.
A statement released from Take That said: “It's a real honour for us to be able to play Anfield, such an historic ground and venue. The Liverpool audiences have always been incredible.”
The last concert to be held at Anfield was in 2008, when Sir Paul McCartney performed in front of 36,000 fans as part of the Capital of Culture celebrations.
