  • Community High School aiming to ‘rock’ up funds for Multi Use Gaming Area

    WEST Lancashire Community High have reached the finals of Rock FM’s Lancashire’s Schools Cash For Kids campaign.

    The school in School Lane, Skemersdale is competing against nine others in the promotion running from March 8 to noon on Thursday, April 4, bidding to raise £2,000 which the radio station will match if successful.

    A number of fundraising events are planned with the highlight being an Easter Bingo on Wednesday, April 3, which is also open to the public. Tickets are available from the school office at £1 entrance per person.

    Meanwhile to launch their campaign Sharon Thorpe, the school’s higher level teaching assistant and PTA secretary, took pupil, Mya Lloyd along to meet Nikki Thompson and Claire Trainor from Rock FM and receive their fundraising packs and buckets.

    The school are raising funds to purchase and install a Multi Use Gaming Area.
