Parbold music venture welcomes concert by Australian guitarist favourite
by David Simister

AN Australian guitarist and maestro of classical music will be the latest in a series of artists to play in Parbold at a concert next weekend.

Craig Ogden will be playing at Parbold Village Hall, on The Green, on Saturday, March 5, as part of the village's Douglas Music series of concerts.

A spokesperson for Douglas Music said:

“Australian born guitarist Craig Ogden is one of the most exciting artists of his generation. He was recently honoured by the Royal Northern College of Music with a Fellowship in recognition of his achievements. He is the youngest instrumentalist ever to have received this award.

”He collaborates regularly with many of the UK’s top artists and ensembles and in January this year assembled and headed up a weekend of performances by international guitarists at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall. Craig also frequently records for film and was featured on the British hit, Notting Hill.“

He will be joined in the concert by American mandolin player Tim Finch, who has been performing at concerts and teaching others about music since his arrival in the UK in 2006.

Tickets cost £12, and £5 for young persons and students. For further information, please contact the Box Office on 01257 421526.
