Bizarre boat baffles Hesketh Bank residents
by David Simister

IT might look like a shiny prop from a sci-fi film but this intruiging creation is currently being built in a West Lancashire boatyard - and it's baffling passers by.

Hesketh Bank resident Stephen Trippier saw this unusual boat at Douglas Boatyard in Hesketh Bank, which he and community reporter Mark O'Hanlon would love to find out more about.

“Who, what, and why are the questions being asked about one of the latest in a long line of interesting ‘projects' being undertaken at Hesketh Bank Boatyard,” Mr O'Hanlon said of the unusual boat.

“If anyone knows the story behind this creation we would love to know.”

Is the boat your creation, or do you know the brains behind it? If you do, get in touch by calling 01704 392404 or send an email to To see more pictures of the boat visit Mark O'Hanlon's website at
