Youths up for musical
by Natasha Young

THIS weekend, the Waterloo and Crosby Theatre Company will be performing a youth musical at St Luke’s Church Hall, Crosby. Following on from the success of their latest family pantomime production, Puss in Boots which was performed at Crosby Civic Hall in December, the show sets out to be equally as much fun and will be great family entertainment for all.

Starring more than 50 of the company’s children and young people, the show features lots of well known musical numbers and an exciting storyline.

Join the pupils of West Crosby High and follow the adventures of Zak, as he goes in pursuit of his true love Maria whilst trying to avoid the pranks of the class clowns Phillius and Fogg, and the evil clutches of arch nemesis Dakota.

Director Leo Appleton, who has also directed the company’s last three pantomimes, said: “The show has been lots of fun to write and direct and it is wonderful seeing all children and young people in the company enjoying themselves. They have worked really hard during the last couple of months and the final result should allow them to show off all their talents to the full. We have some wonderful singers and actors in amongst our young members and they have really done us proud.

”I hope people will join us for what looks set to be another exciting and fun Waterloo and Crosby production.“

There is a 7.30pm performance on Friday (April 1), and a matinee (3pm) and an evening performance (7.30pm) on Saturday (April 2).

Tickets cost £7 and are available by calling 07969513087.
