Police warn over vehicles thefts
by Henry James

POLICE are reminding motorists to make sure they keep their vehicles locked after a number of unlocked cars were targeted in Aughton.

On the evening of Wednesday, April 27 thieves entered four cars parked on Bleasdale Close, Convent Close, The Serpentine and Spinney Close – all of which had not been locked by their owners.

Det Insp Graham Hill said: “Don’t give thieves an open invitation – make sure you always lock your vehicles. Any items of value should be removed from sight and, if possible, vehicles should be parked in a garage or in a well light area.”

A DVD system, money and binoculars were among the belongings stolen.

Anyone with any information can phone the police on 0845 1 25 35 45.
