Nursery revisited
by David Simister

A HASKAYNE lady who revived the nursery she attended as a child has spoken of the success she has enjoyed since its opening earlier this year.

Lynsey Blane told The Champion that her Little Learners Nursery, located at Downholland Haskayne CE School, had been warmly welcomed by parents since it opened in April and is looking forward to an open day being hosted for parents next month.

She said:

“The children love our Nursery and run in every morning. They can’t wait to get started. The ratio of staff to children is high, which is something you don’t normally get in a nursery.

”We have many children with their name on the list for the future. Parents can secure a place for their child by completing an enrolment form from nursery or school.“

Earlier this year The Champion reported that she was the first child to attend Downholland Haskayne Primary School's nursery when it opened back in 1981, and that she was working on plans to open a private nursery on the same site which would plug a gap left by the original nursery.

Sue Wilson, one of the parents who uses the nursery, said:

”It is great to see a nursery back at Haskayne School. My son is really enjoying going to the nursery, he loves it.“

Little Learners is having an open day on Saturday, July 9 between 10.30am and 2pm. which members of the public are welcome to attend, whether they are prospective parents or anyone who just wants to have a look around the nursery and school.
