Directors offer movie roles to fund new film
by David Simister

CHAMPION readers can land a part in a new film that's being created by a trio of budding Spielbergs - if they are willing to contribute £200 towards production costs.

The fundraising scheme is the idea of James Ibbitson, Kevin Robinson, and Dale Why, former Edge Hill students who teamed up to create Power Down Pictures .

They are currently working on a low budget movie called A Fall From Grace and in a bid to attract more funding they are inviting West Lancashire residents to get involved with the film's creation.

Kevin said:: “Funding for independent British films is more than difficult to find and for those in a similar situation to us – still in university with only a small body of work – it’s virtually impossible. So we were effectively forced to think outside of the box, and we wanted to do something a bit different to the norm, we wanted to do something exciting that would enable us to engage with our audience from word go.

”We’re offering rewards such as your name in the credits, giving away props, exclusive signed stuff and even a part in the film in return for pledges of support. Now we really need you to get behind us. I really can’t stress how much it would mean to all of us if you could pledge a little, regardless of how small – I really mean it when I say every little helps.“

The film, a political thriller set in the 1940s, is set to be filmed in Ormskirk early next year, and Power Down are hoping to give the film's supporters a direct role in its creation in return for funding.

Among the incentives being offered are an exclusive still image from the film signed by the crew and cast for £5, through to being credited as an associate producer for £85, and being given a speaking role in the film for £200.
