Concert to mark Crosby company's anniversary
by Ron Ellis

THE Waterloo and Crosby Theatre Company are celebrating their 30 year anniversary this year with a special celebratory concert.

The company formed back in 1982 when Waterloo and Crosby Amateur Operatic Society and the Cambridge Players merged to literally become an ‘all singing, all dancing' community theatre group and they have been going from strength to strength ever since.

During that time they have produced and performed many plays, pantomimes, musicals, concerts and youth shows all over Sefton and have been at the heart of community theatre in the area encouraging and engaging all members of the community to get involved in amateur performances.

This summer they bring to you their concert ‘The Best of Times' a concert which celebrates all the musical productions they have done over the last thirty years. the concert promises to be a musical extravaganza with songs from many dofferent shows including: Annie Get Your Gun, Anything Goes, Carousel, Fiddler on the Roof, the King and I, the Sound of Music, Hello Dolly and many more right up to their latest musical ‘La Cage aux Folles', which they performed at the Southport Little theatre last summer.

Musical direction is provided by Ian Dunning and Ann Dickinson as accompanist both of whom will be familiar faces to patrons of the Waterloo and Crosby Theatre Company, and as the show celebrates musical theatre performances by the company, artistic direction is provided by Pamela Foy.

The show takes place at Old Christ Church, Waterloo on July 14, Saint Faith's Church, Crosby on July 20 and Formby United Reformed Church on July 21. All shows commence at 7.30pm and tickets are available for £8 each (including refreshments) on 0151 924 0231.
