Barking dog may have put off Scarisbrick intruder, police claim
by David Simister

A WOULD-BE burglar who attempted to break into a home in Scarisbrick may have been put off by a barking dog, police have said.

The home, on Covertside Road, was targeted by an offender who caused damage to the front door after using cutting equipment to try and gain access, but failed to get in and fled the scene.

Officers investigating the incident believe the victim's dog barking may have alerted the homeowner during the attempted break in, which took place between 10pm on Thursday, September 27 and 7.30am the following morning.

If you have any information about this incident contact Lancashire Constabulary on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
