Sainsbury's helps to continue London 2012 success with Churchtown Primary donation
by Natasha Young

SAINSBURY'S helped the success of the Olympics and Paralympics live on in Southport last Wednesday (October 2), as staff presented merchandise to Churchtown Primary School.

Items donated included bunting, posters, t-shirts, wristbands, facepaints, hair accessories and boppers, and the school will use the merchandise for a project on the London 2012 Games during the next summer term.

As part of the project, children will look at the value and the legacy of the games, as well as the different cultures from each country.

Marc Gordon, the store manager from Sainsbury's on Lord Street, said: “Our colleagues and customers have really got behind all ParalympicsGB and Team GB athletes and we wanted to celebrate the success of the London 2012 Games by providing Churchtown primary school with a lasting memento of what has truly been a year like no other.”
