Mayor pops into breakfast club at Hillside primary
by Henry James

THE mayor of West Lancashire has popped in to the breakfast club at Hillside primary school in Skelmersdale.

Cllr Paul Greenall came to the thriving club, which is attended by nearly 70 on Tuesday, November 27, which is provided free of charge.

On the same day the school was celebrating Lancashire Day with a special lunch, and the mayor had breakfast with the children, and also spent some time with some Year 2 children who had written letters to him about their likes and dislikes of Skelmersdale.

The children stated that they like The Beacon, The River Tawd, The Concourse, and their school, but that they didn’t like the broken glass on the ground, dog muck, litter and graffiti.

The mayor has taken these letters back to the council, and the children are awaiting a formal reply.
