Village's celebration evening
by David Simister

THE contributions residents of one West Lancashire village have made to their community has been marked at a special celebration evening.

The borough's mayor joined members of Hesketh-with-Becconsall Parish Council at a night of presentations honouring Hesketh Bank residents who have made notable contributions to life in the village.

The council's clerk, Ian Cropper, said in a statement: “The parish council has resolved to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II by celebrating the contributions made by members of the local community in enhancing the well-being of people living in Hesketh Bank.

”Clearly it would be impossible to mark every single kindness or consideration shown and members of the council have therefore had the unenviable task of selecting those whom they consider have given exceptional service.“

Members of the public who have done more than their fair share for the community were presented with certificates at the evening event, which was held on December 20 at All Saints Church Hall.
