Aughton youngsters bring joy to nursing home residents
by David Simister

A GROUP of youngsters from Aughton brought a bit of festive cheer to residents of one of the village's nursing homes to perform a festive play.

Year Six pupils from Aughton St Michael’s CE Primary School make weekly term time visits to Springfield Court Nursing Home, where they chat, play games, and sing among other activities with the elderly residents there.

The visits have culminated in a special visit by the whole of Year Six to the home, when they performed their school Christmas play, the Peace Child, on December 20. In return, the home's residents sang We Wish You a Merry Christmas to the youngsters.
