Parbold group to stage mystery farce at WI
by Henry James

PARBOLD'S Douglas Drama Group has announced their Spring production is to be The Murder Room by Jack Sharkey.

The performances will be staged over three consecutive nights, April 25, 26 and 27 at Parbold WI.

The Murder Room is a mystery farce about newly-weds Edgar and Mavis. Two days after the couple's wedding, Edgar finds out that Mavis is being unfaithful. The plot continues from there.

A spokesman for Parbold Douglas Drama Group said: “There’s a murder, there’s a room – it does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s as simple as that. Or is it? It’s never simple when an older man takes on a young wife. Throw in an heiress, an American, two policemen, a housekeeper, a bicycle and a dead cat, although not all at the same time, and you’ll get the general gist. Another three nights of rip-roaring fun and intrigue.”

Doors open at 7pm and the curtain is up at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from the DIY Centre, Parbold and from Parbold Fruit and Veg.

Parbold Douglas Drama Group is an amateur dramatic group, based in Parbold, performing two productions per year in local venues.
