War Horse to be streamed to Parbold

THE streaming of the West End production of War Horse is one of the highlights of Parbold Picture House’s winter programme.

There will be a National Theatre NT Live showing of The Habit of Art by Alan Bennett on Thursday, November 7 at 7pm. Admission: £12.50. Front Row Box Office Tel: 01257 463878. It stars Richard Griffiths & Alex Jennings. Benjamin Britten, sailing uncomfortably close to the wind with his new opera, Death in Venice, seeks advice from his former collaborator and friend, W H Auden.

Then on Sunday, November 10 at 7pm Behind the Candelabra will be shown. Admission: £3.50. Director: Steven Soderbergh starring: Michael Douglas, Matt Damon. This film was the winner of seven Emmy Awards including best actor for Michael Douglas. Before Elvis, Elton John, Madonna & Lady Gaga, there was Liberace -“Too much of a good thing is WONDERFUL!” – an infamous pianist, and flamboyant star, synonymous with showmanship & extravagance, but behind the candelabra was a secret love story….

On Sunday, November 24 at 7pm there is a chance to see The Place beyond the Pines Admission: £3.50. Written and directed by Derek Cianfrance, this film stars: Ray Gosling, Eva Mendes, Bradley Cooper. Four men - two generations – fight to overcome a legacy of blood.

Visitors to Parbold Picture House on Tuesday, November 26 at 7pm will be able to see the Menier Chocolate Factory Production of Merrily we roll along by Stephen Sondheim. Admission: £12.50. On Tuesday, December 3, at 7pm there is a National Theatre NT Live presentation of Frankenstein. Admission: £12.50. Front Row Box Office Tel: 01257 463878.

Then on Sunday, December 8 at 7pm there is the chance to catch NO. Admission: £3.50. The director of this film is Pablo Larrain and it stars Gael Garcia Bernal. 1988, CHILE. A true story. A plebescite to decide whether to vote ‘YES’ to stay with Pinochet’s dictatorship or ‘NO’ for democracy prompts a band of advertising ‘MAD MEN’ to instigate change without violence.

On Sunday, December 15 at 7pm Little Women will be shown. Admission: £3.50. Director: Gillian Armstrong. Starring: Susan Sarandon, Winona Ryder, Kirsten Dunst, Claire Danes. Classic coming-of–age and touching story that has lived in many hearts for generations, about four sisters, left poor, when their father leaves to fight in the American Civil War

Hitchcock is to be shown on Sunday, January 5 at 7pm. Cert 12. Admission: £3.50. Director: Sacha Gervasi. Starring: Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh, Jessica Biel as Vera Miles, James D’Arcy as Anthony Perkins. Untold story about the film that shocked the world. It is a love story about one of the most influential twentieth century film–makers, Alfred Hitchcock, and his wife and partner, Alma Reville, during the making of Pyscho.

On Sunday, January 19 at 7pm Side Effects can be seen. Admission: £3.50. Director: Steven Soderbergh, starring: Jude Law, Rooney Mara, Channing Tatum, and Catherine Zeta-Jones . This film is described as a riveting psychological thriller where neither symptoms nor cure are as straight forward as they seem. A successful New York couple’s lives unravel when the wife is given a new drug to treat anxiety.

On Thursday, February 27 2014 at 7pm there is the chance to see the National Theatre NT Live presentation of War Horse. Admission: £12.50. Front Row Box Office Tel: 01257 463878. West End Theatre Production.
