Bathroom firm acquires new Skelmersdale site
by Henry James

AN online bathroom retailer is coming to Skelmersdale with the promise of up to 40 new jobs being created in the next year or two.

Bosses at Formby-based Victorian Plumbing have announced that sales success have allowed them to acquire a larger, second business premises in Skelmersdale.

They have said that the expansion will bring new job prospects to the area with about 40 positions available in various sectors including warehouse operations and customer service staff.

The property, based at Pimbo Point on Potter Place, part of Pimbo Industrial Estate, is a renovated 109,000 square foot warehouse and contact centre space.

As the estate is one of the three largest in the Skelmersdale area, the warehouse is situated near big companies such as PepsiCo, Proctor & Gamble and Matalan.

Victorian Plumbing will be running the warehouse alongside their existing offices in Formby where they recently created nearly 30 new jobs in the past year.

A “fantastic year of growth” meant that the existing premises were simply no longer big enough and the expansion will enable the company to cope with the rising demand online for quality bathroom products.

Managing director, Mark Radcliffe, said: “We're really happy to announce Victorian Plumbing's new operational centre in Skelmersdale. Our current Formby warehouse has served us well since 1999, but at this exciting and promising time for the business we have identified the need for a larger and more efficient distribution space.

”As one of the country’s top online retailers of bathrooms, we focus on retailing quality bathroom fixtures and accessories from famous brands and also from our own ranges. We aim to maintain our fantastic level of customer service as well as fast, easy and efficient deliveries whilst the business emerges as a leading brand.

“The new location will create approximately 40 new jobs for the local area over the next one to two years, with vacancies arising in both warehouse and customer services operations, and we look forward to welcoming new employees to the team here at Victorian Plumbing.”
