The Hightown Club hosts first rugby match in 15 years
by Tom Martin

THE Hightown Club has hosted its first rugby match in 15 years after it became the new home of Crosby St Marys RUFC.

The team recently moved to the Thirlmere Road facility after the lease on their former home, at Gorsey Lane, came to an end.

Their fixture against a West Park XV proved to be a historic encounter and was well attended by fans.

The match, which has been described as being played in “a great spirit”, saw the new home side run out comfortable 75 - 7 winners.
