Molly wins school memorial award
by Tom Martin

A YOUNGSTER has been presented with a memorial award which was created in tribute to a former Bootle pupil who passed away.

Molly Dixon, 11, was given the Alaa Ali Award by Bedford Primary School with the accolade being named after a former pupil who died in 2006.

Every year since losing Alaa, the school recognises a child who has been an “outstanding member” who has an excellent attitude and behaviour.

Molly was chosen as the latest recipient of the award because she has been an excepetional role model to her classmates.

She said: “When I was presented with the award in assembly I was totally shocked that it was my name being read out.

”I looked around at my friends to check it was right, it felt like a dream. When I got home I was extremely proud to show my Nan the award.“
