High rise revamp plan is rejected
by Tom Martin

PLANS to refurbish a high rise flat in Seaforth has been rejected by Sefton Council.

Montgomery House, on the junction of Claremont Road and Kings Park, had been earmarked by owners One Vision Housing as in need of a revamp and they submitted a plan to give it a major refurbishment.

Nearby residents had opposed the proposal as it involved the introduction of a ‘plant room' with a biomass boiler, and this led to concerns from protesters who believed it would impact on air quality.

The council stated that the proposal had been blocked as it “did not enhance the character of the area.”
