Chance for cyclists to test ride link road
by Tom Martin

AHEAD of it’s opening to traffic, cyclists are being given the chance to test ride the new Thornton to Switch Island link road thanks to Sefton Council’s cycling development team.

The new road, which will be called the A5758 Broom's Cross Road, is now in the final stages of completion and expected to open in the first week of August.

This unique opportunity for cyclists, taking place on Tuesday, July 14, is open to all riders, provided that their bicycle is in a rideable condition and they are capable of riding the full six mile distance.

Registration will be open on the day from 5.30pm at L30 Community Centre, Stonyfield, Netherton and the ride will start at 6pm with a projected 8pm finish.
