Plan to demolish 'eyesore' garages
by Tom Martin

EMPTY garages in Litherland which have been described by locals as “unsightly” come be demolished under new plans.

One Vision Housing (OVH), which owns the units, has put in a planning application with Sefton Council to reduce them to rubble.

The garages are located at three different sites along Hapsford Road and if the idea is approved, they will make way for car spaces.

Some residents have also complained to Sefton Council about the garages attracting anti-social behavour.

One person who lives in the area, Sandra Doran said: “They really aren't nice to look at. They are outdated and look very run-down.

”Any empty building just seems to attract mischief in this day and age. These garages are no different and I've heard stories of local kids vandalsing them. It makes them even worse to look at!

“With any luck, they will be torn down for good and replaced with something useful.”
